Maru Sushi & Grill in Sanford

This place is great! I came here for lunch and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a very wide variety of different options and were more than happy to help you decide on what to get. The seaweed salad and all three sushi rolls I tried were fantastic. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

While picking up an order for Grubhub the waitress was super sweet brought me some water and started having a conversation with me! Great job in hiring her ! Will be back to try your food soon :)

The sushi was good and the hh prices are great. The food came out shockingly quickly and it was all brought out as it was ready rather than waiting for everything to be done and bringing it out all at once, which meant there were way too many individual plates on the table. Our appetizer didn't come out until we were halfway done with the main course. If you want some inexpensive but still good sushi, hit this place during happy hour. My suggestion to them would be to work on their pacing.

Maru never fails to please. We love the servers, the chefs, everyone. Just had their carryout. Tuna Poke Tower just as good as if we were sitting there!! Thanks folks. Please place an order!

Excellent place for sushi. We took our cousins from out of town here and they thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. If you want to impress your guess, order the Prairie Fire Roll. This is literally lit on fire. Great presentation and it tasted great as well. The lobster roll is also look great and tasted great. Toro "Tuna Belly" is definitely a must try. It's melt in your mouth.

Joko was an absolutely phenomenal waiter. I have celiacs disease and EXTREME allergies. I communicated the importance that the cutting boards, gloves and utensils all needed to be washed due to the severity of my reactions. The chefs came and asked about ingredients they were unsure about. I saw them wash everything too. They were very helpful, very attentive and accommodating as well. This has by far been the best restaurant for allergens I have ever been to. Thank you staff of Maru for the experience. The chefs and Joko definitely are deserving of praise.

This is the best sushi place in Johnson County. We have been going there periodically, week after week and for about a year. The food is delightful - we have tried 40+ rolls to date, and none of them have disappointed.

Their house salad (as pictured) is superior to most sushi places so they get big ups for that. They have steamed rolls as well as riceless rolls for those that are wanting a lower calorie sushi fix. Very good quality and variety of rolls. Their down fall was the service is only sub par. I recommend going when you have plenty of time and arent in a rush. I will definitely be back.

Well, i really have no idea why this restaurant got just one star. This is my the most favorite place to dine for Sushi so far. I have experienced lots of authentic sushi in Japan and by far this is the most closest one that I have ever had in the United States. People are so nice, their food is on point and I have no complaint ever.

This place has NEVER disappointed us! Hands down best sushi in KC!Their Prairie Fire, Baked Salmon Roll and House Special are our favorites! Chef J is amazing and the staff is always so friendly and welcoming! Yesterday we picked up our to go order -the presentation and taste were just as we remembered!

Good quality sushi at a fair price. They don’t skimp on their sushi either... nice thick rolls well worth the money. Menu has a good variety.

Tried Hoe-Dup-Bap for the first time and it's huge serving! The waitress gave nice instructions on how to properly eat this thing, and it's spicy delicious! It's large enough to share with 2-4 people.

Sashimi was pretty good, not so much with sushi. Rice was cold, felt like overnight rice... Rest of the food were good. For a sushi place, cold and hard rice are not acceptable to me..

We arrived at this place for a meeting. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. Well, it was a winning. we were warmly welcomed by the crew and we had a great feeling. The food was just great. We enjoyed every moment and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Warmly recommended.

Pretty good place. The sashimi 🍣pieces came on a nice pretty boat and everything looked fantastic🍱. But nothing blew me out of the water 🌊to get the perfect score!!! Neat place though. 👌

Pretty solid sushi joint. Have only come at lunch time so far. Everything so far has been tasty and not oversized or stingy. I was also impressed with the presentation of the sushi. They don't just slap it on the plate/board all squished together. Speed of service was good and we had a larger party.
